Bun-less Philly Cheese Steak

–This recipe is a variation of a traditional Philly cheese steak

–This goes great with our next recipe “Homemade Sweet Potato Fries.”

1lb. thinly sliced steak

1 yellow bell pepper

1 green bell pepper

1 white onion

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 slices provolone cheese

Optional – rice

Optional – romaine lettuce

Optional – tomato

–black pepper to taste

Start by slicing all of your vegetables and steak.  I like to cut everything into thin strips.  Heat the oil in a pan on medium-high heat, and then add the steak.  Just sear the steak, don’t cook it too long, we want it to stay tender.   Next add the Worcestershire sauce, all the sliced vegetables, and some black pepper.  Again only cook for a short time, we want the veggies to keep a crunch to them.  Drain some of the liquid off if necessary.  Turn the heat down and place the slices of provolone over the meat and veggies and cover the pan.  The cheese will melt quickly and your cheese steaks are ready!!

You can serve this with rice for a better choice than putting it on bread.  Another option is too put this over some lettuce and put some tomatoes on top for a delicious cheese steak salad.  Watch for the next recipe “Sweet Potato Fries” for a great side to this dish!!
